I've had a yellow tang in my tank for about a week now and today he looks awfully pale :/ . I tested my waters and everything is fine. He loves frozen shrimp and I hear they also love seaweed so I purchased the purple one but he has never touched it. I hear the seaweed is really good for them but I can't get him to eat it. I usually just throw a little piece in my tank hoping he would see it because when I've tried to put it in bt. Rocks it'll just break away. Any suggestions on what else I can feed him or how I can have him eating the seaweed? Or should I try the geen one instead.

I have had a yellow eye kole tang for a month. Mine hardly eats the algae strips, but loves the cyclops I put in for my anthias.

Yellow Tangs can pitch their color a bit, they look different at night, and when spooked.
You can also feed Alage Sheets, Nori Sheets, Roamine Lettuce. They need foods rich in Vitamin C also.

Try green either rubber banned to a rock or on a clip. My Tangs love green, but would not touch the purple at first. They need that for good health, so eating meaty stuff like Mysis is okay, but it won't be good long term.

Yes I have read they need food rich in vitamin C and I have tried the romaine lettuce but guess I will try it again. Is it ok to just have the food float when I put it in the tank ie. Algae sheet or lettuce or should I stick it low somewhere so he can see it idk lol. ? Haha I guess NeuroticAquatics just answered tht for me. Thanks

Guess I'll try the algae sheets next.. Along with the pellets. I threw some frozen clams in there for the fishes and my ribbon eel thinking my tang would like it and he didn't touch it and the ribbon eel actually spit it back out after tasting it which was odd lol but my other 2 fishes are it.
