Bought a yellow watchman goby a day ago, today it swam around the tank unlike the behaviour that i have read that it likes to stay in a cave/burrow, currently night time here, in goby is currently the surface of the water near the water intake into the "sump" of the tank (aio) , should i be worried or should I just wait it out until the goby settles into its new home. Thanks everyone:)

If it was in my tank I'd be worried I have a parasite. It also may be getting picked on by other fish and not able to find a cave/overhang to establish it's territory.

I've had gobies (gobys? what's the plural of goby)...hang out at the top for the first day and overnight before (new fish, new tank). Especially if it's a goby that likes to pair and hasn't found shrimp yet.

I would be concerned and keep watching it for any other common disease, injury or hassassment symptoms. But wouldn't panic just yet.
