Yet another one of my tank problems! I think I have a peppermint shrimp that took a liking to my torch Coral I can’t tell though.

My torch Coral has some tentacles that look like they’ve been chopped up and the only thing I could think of is my peppermint shrimp none of my fish are coral eaters.

Peppermint shrimp love nibbling corals especially lps. It's entirely possible

I would say the safest is probably a fire shrimp as they mainly live in caves, but any cleaner shrimp can't get a little irritating to lps. Peppermint are the worst of the regularly kept cleaner shrimp for that though IMO

Short answer yes. If they dont actively attack the corals they will when/if you feed the coral. LPS become "vending" machines for most of the shrimp we keep. I love cleaner shrimp and blood/fire shrimp but I wont keep them in my reef with lps. I learned this long ago.

Flows not too high

I've had plenty of peppermint shrimp, cleaners, fire, etc... and never seen any in my torch garden. The wave movement of the tentacles would not make it an appealing stop for a snack

I have hermits pithos, emeralds. Acroporas, etc...I see it as a necessary component for my overall tank biome
