My 110 gallon 60"x18"x24" mixed reef tank with a 45 gallon refugium.
Thread restart for this tank that was started in January 2022 with a used tank and rocks. It was an ugly mess that I've slowly been saving. My goal has been to experience as much as I can to find my niche in this hobby.

Cant wait to see all the corals! Especially the Stylos and the Duncan! I plan on having a Duncan coral garden so I look forward to seeing yours grow. Any plans to squeeze in a new fish? Aquascape ideas?

Look how young that iridis is! I miss when mine was that small and not quite as much of a boss. Now my jade is lucky if he’s given someone to ‘boss around’.

We need to get @i cant think and @SaltyT in here!
Where's the embarrassed reaction?

Well the Duncan is currently not enjoying my new flow but has like 10 heads from 2. As for the SPS some small frags died in the cyano outbreak but the stylo and pavona did fine (just added the Monti and it is tiny).
I'm using filters to combat the blue as you can see:

Added to the main post but here's a before and after. Do regret the background; I wanted black but this was the best the store had and couldn't wait to start thus the weird coral background. Ah well.

If only there weren’t so many zoanthids, I bet an Angel would look stunning ;)

P.S. I still love my wrasses but that regal is really competing with them.
That's what the FOWLR is for. I was going to get a Pomacanthus navarchus but you have me reconsidering. Are they especially fond of zoas?

Most angels seem to love zoas but some of the ones known for being reef safe (or more reef safe) don’t seem to always touch them. Regals are known for being slightly more reef safe but still seem to enjoy zoas (rarely anything else though).

I assume if you feed them plenty then you should be good :)

The other issue is I'm taking no chances with even semi-aggressive fish in this tank anymore. Two too many mistakes there.

I’ve found that Narvachus is one of the less aggressive angels however I definitely understand the caution - I’ve felt with a nasty Scopas that nearly killed everything in the tank after just snapping one day.

Some of my favorite corals:
IMG_5392.jpeg

Gold galaxea - Got 2 weeks ago and was really ugly at first.

IMG_5396.jpeg

Pixie dust zoas - Prettier in person. Also got 2 weeks ago and it's already grown off the plug. Might have found a way to make some money back. They're not cheap.

IMG_5394.jpeg

Gold hammer - Newish coral and has great depth of color.

IMG_5399.jpeg

Pandora zoas - A love hate as they are really ugly in white lights and too fast growing. But in intense blues they are gorgeous.

IMG_5398.jpeg

Blasto - another that transforms under the right light.

IMG_5397.jpeg

Elegance - Wish it had more color but love everything else about it.

IMG_5395.jpeg

RFA - Can't really see the random pink tentacles but a gorgeous RFA.

I'm still trying to fit everything into my tank... :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:
Yeah you got it. Glad to see you! This tank definitely benefited from your advice along the way.

If it isn't obvious I wanted to try everything. Looking at my stocking list I think I achieved a lot. So much in fact I just realized I forgot a fish and an invert just writing this. Definitely would have skipped some stuff in retrospect but for the most part I'm happy.

Well that’s good news. Very reassuring for my Zoa garden lol.
