Right - I'm surprised that any 'business' would allow it - and I'm surprised if R2R allows it on their site - as they may be liable (do they?)@revhtree
They would be liable if that’s taking place on this site. I haven’t seen that, I hope they aren’t. All these auctions are illegal, and I bet some of the entry’s are under 18 as well, also illegal.
It’s no different than running a poker room out of your basement with random guests, basically being a casino. Very illegal.

This is the only loophole, most auctioneers aren’t doing this though.

It may be possible to raffle off something you own if you partner with a nonprofit organization. The organization must own the item at the time of the raffle. Consult an attorney to determine the legality of this option in your state.

You and I are probably in the same groups. I don't mind auctions. I think auction pricing is pure market economics and fair.
Yes, we are in the same groups. The auctions aren’t as bad as the raffles, but when I see something I want I’d rather just buy it than try to compete for it. So when people put buyouts on them it makes it a little better. I have zero interest in raffles. Not to mention I’ve had a couple of people tell me they were goi g to sell me something, then decide to raffle it off instead.
