Hey all. I have a YTD that protects his turf. He won't let my clowns acclimate to my anemone. They have tried, but my YTD won't let them. Any ideas? I know my tank is empty. Haha, Im waiting to get rock. Will that solve my problem?

Let me elaborate. This tank is not properly set up. The damsel is territorial because there is nothing to break line of sight. You need rock work to establish territories and hiding places for the fish. Secondly you tank is not ready for that anemone imo. They require mature tanks with lots a live rock for biological filtration. They are very sensitive to parameter swings and should not be added until the tank is up for at least 6 months. If you have any questions we would be glad to help you how ever we can, I don't mean to come off harsh.

Ive read soooo many forums ro know that people come off harsh, but they aren't..true fish lovers they are..lol..my tank has been cycling for a month before i added fish..i started with 2 YTDs, a month later i added the anem, 2 Banggai Cards & 2 Clowns..the anem got both BCs & both YTDs..the anem is getting healthier, eating & growing..i understand the risks of the anem & tank, but ill gladly accept input..most of the places ive been too for rock have ****** prices, but 1 location & he has strange hours, i have an appointment with him this Thursday for rock..its a 20g tank, i know its snall, but any ideas on patterns? I was thinking of a pvc platform with rock on top in a cave like design..thank u for your advice & ideas..all are welcone

A quick bandaid may be to put some pvc elbows in like you would see in a QT. Cheap, easy, and safe. It would give them something to offer shelter while you are cycling your rock.

I have a pvc coupling in right now that my clowns are hosting
I would probably put a few more in if you have them laying around. Help break up the sight lines and offer more structure/sanctuary. Maybe your damsel would move to those and leave the nem to your clowns.
