He was stung by an anemone chasing food, he was hiding for 2 days and is venturing out again. Skin seems to be turning white and fins starting to look tathered.

Hes actively eating, I turned 10 gallon QT tank for sump 40 my 40 which is mid cycle....i have a small 1 gallon aquarium I can set up and treat him in. What should I use? I'm reading at the top sticky post but I'm confused which bacterial infection I should treat for. Also my params... 1.024 salinity, nitrite 0, nitrates 20-40, ammonia 0. Skimmer is 3 weeks old. 12 gallon aquapod is 4 months old. The goby has been in my tank for 2 and half weeks.

I'd use at least a 10g hospital tank. 1g will be difficult to measure medications, without even considering the water quality issues.. I would start with kanamycin or Furan 2, whichever you can source easily. You may have to combine meds.. if it is not responding.

You can try adding vitamins in the food in the mean time, the dorsal fin rot is what would make me want to pull him for treatment...

Will be getting a 10 gallon from petco to set up and try to save this guy. And a bath as he is transported. Would seeding with live rock rubble suffice with an air stone or a small power head?

A HOB filter would probably be better, depending on how much rubble we're talking about here - the filter makes sure that your biomedia has flow moving through it at all times.

Ah, poor little guy. I have 2 green spotted puffers who get stung now and then. They turn pale snd their spots are light silver instead of the usual black. They normalize in a few days. Looks like your little guy is more affected. I have a YWG in hospital right now too, from suspected cyphastrea stings. Here's to their recovered health...

Thank you got some furan 2 from my LFS but can't catch my goby. Left out a fish trap to try and catch him.... hes only 2 inches long and cant rip apart my rocks. I noticed some calcium precipitate in the 10g qt tank since I just mixed the salt in there with RODI water, will this be ok?

Poor little guy. If he is eating and active I would not worry about it, this means he is still alert and able which means he will most likely recover fine. Best of luck!

I would give it at least a few hours to thoroughly mix.

After treatment how long should he stay? Till i see his color and find healing? Should o dose carbon after the treatment then water change. And re treat if no signs of improvement? And if the furan doesn't work my LFS said to try the melafix combined with macroryn? Can't remember the name exactly.
