Here's my tank build and my first post on R2R. I'm not really new to the hobby, I had a 10G reef tank in 2013 and after a year I had to take it down because I wanted to focus on finishing HS and going to college. I graduated college in engineering, got a job, and decided to start my addiction again. I bought a 40B and 20Long for the sump, but decided to make the 20long into a display tank, one of my old 10G into a sump, and save the 40B for when I move out of my parents house.
I wanted the tank to be setup the way I wanted it to be setup and that started with the stand. I didnt really like any of the stands on the market and enjoy wood working, so I designed and built the stand myself. I used 3D printed magnet brackets to incorporate a hidden door. Hopefully it doesn't prove to be annoying to take on and off, but for now it is a simple operation. I went with a marine depot medium overflow box because I eventually want to use the overflow box on the 40B. Two hydor koralia nano 425gph powerheads. Standard limestone protein skimmer I had laying around. 2 AI Prime HD LEDs.
I will post updates when I can. If anyone wants the STL files to the corner brackets, the 1/4in return tube holder, or 1in Schedule 40 tube bracket to secure to your stand, send me a PM.
