Hi,

I have a rock in my tank that started with a zoa frag and over the last couple years its spread and covered the rock plus quite a bit more. Planning on doing a tank transfer and dont think I want that rock on my new tank. I messaged a couple LFS to see if they are interested in it and they said yes, to bring it in and they would give me store credit. They did not say how much though.

My question is how much should I expect? To be honest I have never sold any coral, so I am completely lost as to how much would be fair to ask or expect.

Rock is about 4 inches wide and 5 inches tall.

Thanks!

they usually provide 25-50% of their potential sale value as store credit, so I'd say maybe $25-$50 assuming they'd sell it for $100 or so?

My lfs offers

Cash - 50% what they would sell it for
Credit - 75% what they would sell it for

I would say a piece that size would sell for $150 at a LFS in my area

My LFS Fish Cave would probably sell it around 70-80, you might want to sell it yourself on eBay or here, maybe you could get more.
