Title says all. This specific zoa hasn’t opened the entire time I have owned it, I literally don’t even know what kind it is because it’s just always shut.

Any advice on how to get it to open up? All of the other numerous zoas in my tank are fine (aside from the ones that god-forsaken pistol shrimp keeps moving/burying), it’s just this one. I’ve tried moving it to lower light, I’ve tried higher light, I dipped in frag recover once like a week after I got it, all with no results.

(Additionally… I have some temporarily in my sump that have some debris stuck in them, any tips on clearing that out? I tried using a turkey baster and it didn’t work)

Any help is appreciated!

I’ve had that happen before, just left it alone for 3-4 months and it finally was happy to open up. I also just leave the stuck debris alone

Make a 40/60 dip of hydrogen peroxide to saltwater.

Put it in. Baste it good for 1-2 min. Let sit 5 min. Baste it good 1-2 min. Let sit 5 min

Then put right back in the tank. Don’t rinse. Just right back in the display. Low to medium flow and light. Give 24-48 hours for results

Did the zoas ever open ?
