Zoa pics & some questions

OK I am rookie so feel free to make constructive comments. I have a 60 mm AFS micro lens and used a macro filter a 5x magnification. I am still along way from being able to take really close shots. What would enable me to take closer shots? Will a set of extension tubes help? What would you guys suggest?
