There is so many awesome fairy wrasse out there, can get some nice expensive ones that are beautiful
I agree. There are so many to choose from! It seems fishy business aquatics has a better selection than the other online vendors I’ve used in the past. But idk anyone who has personally bought from them. That’s the only place I’ve found the Christmas wrasse that appears to possibly be reputable.

Most wrasses in general are reef AND community friendly. As they are very active fish, they can be nippers and are knowingly very greedy at feeding and may flip rocks/plugs/corals to search for bristleworm and other moving pests which they eat.
They are a family of very colorful fish and 6 line and melanurus seem to be a popular collected specie. The rainbow wrasse A/K/A blunthead wrasse also falls into this category of active, etc

Thanks for the info! I have some bristleworms in the tank that I would love for them to get rid of! Just hope they don’t destroy the tank in an effort to get to them

I’ve placed this Zoanthid colony into my tank, the 1st 10 hours about 85% were open and they looked great these last two days about 30-40% have stayed closed, does anyone know an answer.? I’m quite new to the hobby so I don’t know if they’re just adjusting to their new home

Direct more flow at them but do not blast them. They do not like bright light. Soften lighting to blue and feed

My GMK Krak has been closed for 3 straight days. Nothing in the tank has changed? Should I be worried? My cal is on the high side, 460?

Looks bacterial in nature. May not be receiving enough flow to clean the tissue of debris and detritus. A furan 2 dip works well. Add one pack of furan 2 to one cup of tank water for 10 mins once a day for three days and place back in the tank with high flow directed towards them. I would also raise nitrates to at least a detectable level ideally at least 5ppm

Nitrate is around 10, pho’s is barely detectable. What makes you think bacterial? Thanks!

I have learned that barely detectable phosphates makes corals madder than barely detectable nitrates. Phyto especially the bottled stuff from the LFS will increase phosphates. The areas circled make me think bacterial

On occasion I will get a few frags that need a furan dip the smaller colonies that do not get enough flow because the colonies growing around them are larger. A picture of a few frags post dip cycle and two on day one of furan dip and some of my other small colonies

I agree with you on the pictures that you circled, that’s definitely something other than a flow issue

How long has the frag been in the tank? How far from the light source do you think it is or do you know the par it is currently receiving? How much flow is it receiving? You should be able to see their skirts move in the current. I also use a turkey baster at least once a day to blow off debris. I am not seeing any clear signs of bacterial infection currently but would keep an eye on the lower one on the left hand side. This frag could possibly be melting

I’ve had it about 3 weeks. I moved it about 10 days ago from my frag rack to a permanent spot on a rock. A little less light and flow. Was doing great up until a few days ago, I don’t have a PAR meter. I’m leaning towards flow now? I just don’t know. It looks completely healthy to me other than being half closed

No worries I could not tell you what my par is either. Could be a flow issue. Most all of my zoa issue result from not enough flow

God I hope it isn’t melting
Probably just flow and not melting since you stated that now it is receiving less light than before. Also sometimes a zoa just melts when the rest are fine sometimes it just happens I have had two that ended up melting after shipment yet the others were fine
