Zoas in Sand?

Can I independently put the zoas in the sand not attach to any rock? And can they reproduce?

Not sure how you would be able to keep it down without it floating away!
They will grow beyond the plug and on to the sand. You might want to sink the disk a little so you will have the same effect.
