I've researched Google and can find a straight answer to:

What do the skirts (tentacles) do for a zoas?

* they grab onto micro particles as water flows by for nutrition?

* they absord light for nutrition?

* they use it to sting and as a form of defense?

Anyone?

They are colonial anemones, not really coral. When you think of it like this, it would be weird if they did not have tentacles or a mouth.

I never really find mine doing much food catching, they can keep other corals at arms-length with them.

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
