Everytime I name something in the tank (usually fish) they are the first to die so I stopped naming them years ago. Last fish I named was a female blue throat trigger because the blue around her eyes reminded me me of a picture I once saw of Liza Minnelli with blue eye makeup on so I named her Liza. She died :crying-face:

I name almost everything in the tank; the question is how long I'll remember the name haha. Most of my fish are named, as are my Cynarina and some other large inverts.

Bubba Juke - Sargassum Trigger
Muscovy - Starry Blenny
Pedro - Cleaner Wrasse
Chevy Chase - PJ Cardinal (he killed Martin and Steve)
Veronica - Black Cap Basslet (RIP George)
Chip - Chocolate Tang
Kew & Tewla - Bird Wrasse pair
Lil' Sharpie - Skeletor eel (he is barely longer than a sharpie)
I have a mated pair of Yellowband possums, a copperband, and a pair of pink skunk clowns that have yet to be named.

As for inverts:
Jake - Squamosa clam (Bought with Jake Adams)
KYIYS - Any and all urchins I have ever owned. (Kill You In Your Sleep)
Nic - Abalone (Named after my Italian grandfather, who would smuggle Abalone from the California coast with his dad in the wheels of their car)
Kars - Black brittle
Asidisi - Ornate brittle
Wamu - Serpent star
Jonathan, Joseph and Jotaro - Cookie dough Linckias
Silver Chariot - Chocolate chip star
Reverb - Pink cookie star
Polpo - pink & black cucumber
Goji - Strawberry crab
Kermit - Magnifica anemone

And the corals:
Cola - Dark red Indophyllia
Medusa - four-headed rainbow Cynarina
Gooseberry - Green & yellow Indophyllia
That list was significantly longer than I expected haha.

Hi all! Was curious of you name the things in your tank. People are always surprised when I tell them I don't name anything in the tank. Do you all name the things in your tank? Why/why not? If you do name things in your tank what's the cut off? Inverts? You name your corals?
I name my fish, and say good morning to them, the only inverts I named are my cleaner shrimp Jack, and my fighting conch hewey

My kids 5yr / 10yr are always with me when I buy something for my tank they always request to hold whatever I buy in the car on the way home and naturally they decide on the name for whatever I buy together on the way

Everything in my tank is named with their own personality sometimes I have to ask the kids who is doing this thing in the tank and they instantly say that’s …….bla

It’s cute
