...I usually don't like fake decoration type things in a tank but that deck is freaking sweet, I would be waiting for the first time a hermit figures it out and snap a pic LOL
The most clean build I have ever seen. I like the decks being built on the exposed rock!
Super complicated little system but awesome. You should get some little fiddler crabs for the upper section
That's great! I'll bet some crabs would love that deck.
Actually the scale of the walkways is kind of deceiving, they are really quite small I don't think they will be able to hangout on them! but thats okay I was going more for a small scale world above water and a giant world under water!
Loved reading this thread so far. This puts my DIY foam rock wall build I had to shame. Lol.
This rock wall is my 3rd variation on it haha, the first one I didn't like and i started to cut it apart and turn it into a better version, then I left it out to dry one night and managed to have a few to many and my foot figured that it wanted to occupy the same space as the rock work haha that lead me to the 3rd and in my mind the best remodel...yet haha
If you ever get into model railroading, there are some magazine people that will be contacting you.
Well done, amazing forethought and impeccable execution.
Ive been pouring over miniature railroading forums trying to find tropical styled foliage and greens to cover the rocks with so they have some colour other then the tan that they are now haha but I have always loved building miniatures and models so ill find my way out of that mess
what a **** awesome idea... i love the idea of the rock being out of the water! anyone tried it ? had any issues?
Ive seen a few tanks that have exposed rocks in them, they haven't had any problems with it. Some have used the space for fiddler crabs like in the Volcano Tank and others have just let the rock do its own thing like Jonny did with his tanks before he changed it all up, I've also seen the rock used to grow a few air plants like this gorgeous zero edge build
