Same coral two different locations in tank

High PAR PC rainbows generally turn all pink, sometimes with blue tips in really high PAR #s , ( 400-700) but to get that rainbow coloration its achieved in lower 175-350 ranges from my experience.

Giesemann super actinic vs ATI True actinic

BRS recently did a video with the spectrum and par #s for every single T5 bulb they carry. They even directly compared the simular bulbs of each brand.

    Instant Tank Cycle

Our mod, Daniel. Post #582 it’s a mindstream ammonia eval of a full instant sandbed removal. the rocks instantly ran the bioload, tested to parts per billion before and after. no change after removing all sand, instantly, rocks got no ramp up time...

    Any HVAC techs???

If you continue have issues, call tech support, have brand of ac & furnace, model #s , serial #s,ready. It may take a long while before pick up phone on their end. Before virus, took me, my techs, up to 1 1/2 hr wait. Before they pick up. Bummer.

    Gem Tang

If you are going to try them together the Gem needs to stay in the acc box for a few days. You need to be sure there is no aggression. An acc box would prevent injury or worse. If you mean using a small PVC instead of an acc box, no it won't substitute. If things go south the yellow could...

UV Sterilizers, which unit to choose and why?

    Here are the Lifeguard #s straight from an email where I asked them if the breakdown was linear. "Thank you for your email. For the 120 Watt Pro-Max: 4,000 gph=30,000 uw/s/cm2 2,000 gph=60,000 uw/s/cm2 1,333 ghp=90,000 uw/s/cm2 1,200 gph=100,000 uw/s/cm2 1,000 gph=120,000 uw/s/cm2 667...

UV Sterilizers, which unit to choose and why?

Not sure where you got the aqua uv #s but from their own site the 57 watt is at 90,000 µw/cm2 (EOL) GPH: 1,066 meaning to get 180,000 it would be at 533gph it appears this is calculated with 100% bulb strength. Many brands use 80-90% for the calculation. The biggest difference between...

    1 vs 2 UV

Where did you get your #s the ones I have seen are: Killing Dose of UV light* Bacteria = 15,000 Viruses = 15,000-30,000 Algae = 22,000-30,000 Fungus = 45,000 Chlorine = 90,000 Protozoa = 90,000-180,000 Ich = 100,000 And I was trying to keep turnover at about 3x do you really think 1x would be...

    Nano Build Hectors IM tank

I don’t think so. I bought the fixture due to it being open box and being much more affordable. I’ve been testing its par and I have to say the #s brs posted in their video on it are pretty close.

    Need acro help, browning out!

I used Vibrant to control a GHA outbreak. It caused my #s to go ULN and browning my corals. My tank just does better with ALK around 7.

Build Thread 29g Biocube help/advise/critiques always needed

Its too low for my liking makes me feel like I'm right on a razor edge. I'd be happier at 0.1. And no I don't mean 9 lol I've been consistently testing under 0.1. As soon as this algae is gone and my coralline recovers a bit I'll bump those 2 #s up.

    High Alk dosing kalk help!

I haven't tested my saltwater mix but I know reef crystals has really high Alk. The thing is I don't think I do enough water changes for the salt mix to be keeping the Alk so high. Regardless I'll be switching to a lower Alk salt for my next batch. Anyways, I appreciate your input guys. I'll...

I have a feeling that these #s are incorrect... 2200 gallons is a very big tank... you can give the measurements that you’re familiar with and someone here can convert them.

    Coral vs flame

My opinion based on past fish in my 4' 75g; Aside from your bioload in a 30g, the established clowns will fight with the angel as it cruises through their territory, if they haven't already claimed the whole tank. Then any dwarf angel will attempt to claim the whole tank for themselves. And...

Help! Something's Up With My Poor Anemone!!

Cal is low (should be mid 400s), Alk is high (should be 8-9), but your #s make me more concerned about your lps corals than you bubble tip.

Help! Something's Up With My Poor Anemone!!

Of course any aquatic organism requires stable Cal and especially Alk but anemones do not need them like corals do. Not even close. The op stated his Cal is upper 300s and Alk is 11dkh, unless there was a major swing that got the op to those #s (or that got the op to any of the tested #s) then...

Hanna Alk Reagents / Floating Particles

(pulled from another thread concerning the same issues) Thats a bit of conflicting information, no? "let them settle before performing the analysis" vs "the floating particulates will not impact the results/accuracy" I was performing around 80-90 tests per week with a hanna alk checker...

    Indo Acros now in Stock!

Good to see them coming in but sure sounds like the price went through the roof. Doesn’t seem like for now your gonna get a colony for 50$ to $125$ like it used to be atleast here local for me. Guess I will have to wait till they start flowing in in greater #s and make there way to my lfs’s.

    Bubble tip anemone

What are your EXACT parameters? What do you define as perfect? Sorry if I'm railing you but all to often I hear "params are perfect" and the person asking for help hasn't posted anything but "params are perfect". Post your #s for SG, ALK, CAL, Phos, Nitrates, MAG, & temp!
  25. HB AL

My last 2 tests. Wondering if I should be concerned.

Those #s look fine. Only thing I would do is bring your salinity up to 1.025 or 1.026.
