Scientific Name - Lutjanus sebae

Common Name - Emperor Snapper

Size - 31.5" (80 cm)

Min. Aquarium size - 200 US Gal. (757 L)

Foods and Feeding - Varied diet of marine meaty foods, chooped fresh or frozen shrimp, scallop, marine fish flesh, Mysid shrimp, prepared frozen foods for carnivores. Feed to satiation one time per day.

Reef Compatibility - Will eat crustaceans and any fish it can swallow whole, adults will eat mantis shrimps.

Captive Care - Readily acclimates to captivity, will usually out grow all but the very large home systems, adult coloration is reddish pink, needs plenty of swim room and adequate hiding places, initially can be bullied by tank mates, however, once acclimated they can become very aggressive, keep only one per tank unless juvenile where more than one can be kept, will eat fish it can swallow whole.
