Bill Beauchamp (Billybeau1) from RC has allowed us to use his data that he put together for salt mixes. Thank you Bill!!

Here is a list of what I measured for the big three in a number of the salt mixes we use today. This is intended as a guideline and I, in no way, guarantee these figures. All I can say is they were all tested under the same conditions, with a number of different brand test kits, using the same methods for each test. I believe these numbers are reasonably what you can expect from these salts mixed at 35 ppt or SG 1.0264 @ 25 C.

I switched from reef crystals to dd h20 after reading about rc's new formula. The alk is way too high for me.

I'm surprised by some of the high CA levels on some of those salts too! I know that every bucket can differ a bit, but that's a great reference ... thanks Rev & Bill for sharing!

Very cool David. Thanks Bill :)

Whats wierd is that either my last 4 test kits have been off, or I'm just lucky; especially since I'm a zeohead now :D

Is that the new ESV salt coming out?

Yea the 2 part liquid and 2 part dry.......I got a 50 gallon coming and IF I like it I plan to pick up the 200g kit.....I figured $25 for 50g to test it out was pretty reasonable....

Cool! Where did you find that deal?

From a couple firends that have been using it, they say it is very nice 1smile1

Interesting! I use Tropic Marin ... the standard and I see it's low in everything!

i've always mixed the red sea pro with reef crystals - according to those numbers a pretty good mix
but a couple months ago i ran out of red sea pro and have been going straight reef crystals - explains the alk spike i had last month and the reason my 2 part dosing has been cut to next to nothing and kalkwasser has been enough to maintain my numbers with weekend water changes
i think being a little high across the board is ok for larger systems but people with smaller systems may need to be careful with some of these numbers

Good baseline, but does this really have any meaning? every batch is different, and every mix is different... =(
