Has anyone taken apart chinese led to install in a biocube hood?

I'm thinking a biocube or nanocube will be my next tank. On my biocube 14 I gutted the hood and installed a rapid led triple puck kit. On this one I was thinking of taking the housing off my chinese leds and using them in the hood. Any experiences you can share?
