You know what they say about Big Boys and their Big Boy Toys??

Muhahahaha!!! Pictures will be up this evening, but had to write about this NOW! I picked up a Chicago wet tile saw from Harbor Freight today, for under $50.00!!! Granted, it will only cut 1 1/4" material, but I can't wait to put this baby to use. As soon as Angie's home to take pictures, I'll be fragging my Echinophyllia and Turbinaria Scroll Coral with it. Who knows, I might go frag happy and find other stuff to frag with it!!

Last time I fragged my Echino, I used my Dremel with a diamond cut-off wheel. I wasn't too happy with the results. It took too long, wasn't very accurate and was a regular pain in the butt. I think this will go much smoother, make a much cleaner cut, be much faster and will be much less stressful to the corals. Did I use the word "much" too "much?"

Stay tuned for pictures!!!

Killingseed, please let me know how you fixed them, so I can do it right next time...lol. Oh, ya mean put a space between each image? Did it line them all up left to right?

Thank you for fixing them for me!!!

Coral88, yes, the reservoir only requires 5 cups to be full, and only 3 cups to submerge part of the blade. I did put about 4 cups of saltwater, from my tank, into the reservoir. Then I put freshwater through the reservoir and ran the blade, just to rinse it off.

This will be my next victim.

My Pink Hammer Coral fell on it and went unnoticed for a couple of days. Burned a few polyps of the Favia. Now I'm noticing a couple more polyps are receding, so, it's time to cut it up!! Will try to get pics of the process!!!

I'd like to purchase some tiles at Home Depot to cut into smaller squares (1 1/2X1 1/2). Any suggestions on what types of HD tiles are reef safe?

Well, I got the Favia fragged up. Here's some pictures. I wasn't able to take any pics of the frags, back in the tank, since lights were out by the time I put them back in. I'll get pics of them in the morning. You'll notice my new and improved "Fragging Attire." Better than the "wet t-shirt contest" look of last time.

Here, you can see the damage done when the Hammer Coral fell onto the Favia. The initial damage wasn't as severe, but spread over the past week.

The remainder of the Favia is nice and healthy, but around the stung portion, the tissue continued to recede, well after the sting.

First, to cut off a lot of the excess skeleton.

Now let's get to the fun.

The skeleton on this thing was HUGE, so I decided to trim most of it off, leaving a small portion of skeleton remaining.

I learned the hard way too when using my tile saw.
Stand Behind the saw and pull the coral towards you.
