Hi there!
I have had this tank running in my house for just over three years now. I tried my luck with corals the first year or two, but it really didn't work out. So, I decided to take a break from coral for about the last 6 months to a year. I recently got these duncans about 2 weeks or so...
I got this Duncan a week ago
It looked healthy and happy in the shop
When I got it home it was fully closed as I expected
It hasn’t opened up since and this morning it’s looking bad
Is it bailing or is it ok and just sulking
Its my first reef tank, had it for about 3 months now and one of the first corals i put was a duncan. Since then its been doing great, feeding it with mysis shrimp or reef roids, even started tiny pups on the base of the frag. Was also consistent on water change and parameters.
The only change...
Can you please help my Duncan, it doesn't look very happy.
Got it 4 weeks ago. Some of the heads open most days but most of the heads do not open.
The skeleton is looking colour.
Parameters are (all tested with hanna):
Ammonia 0.06ppm
Nitrate 17.2 ppm (again higher than idea working on...
Hi everyone! relatively new here after lurking for months. Like the title says, I have a new Duncan and am curious if my flow is too much where it's currently located. it's BEAUTIFUL and I want it to grow and be healthy. so many conflicting things about low flow or medium to high flow for...
Does my Duncan look stressed? I think it does.
I came from vacation and of course the tank needed some love because my daughter is only good for top offs and feeding. (I think she’s feeding too much, but I digress)
Photos of before and now…. In the comments.
I have an condy that went ape ****...
I have a Duncan (Duncanopsammia - Toxic Green Stem Duncan Coral cluster 6cm) that extended well for the first 3 weeks after I got it. This morning it did not open and shows some slime coming from the mouth (see pics under white light).
This is a new tank—2 month, fishless cycle. I have not seen...
Had this Duncan for around 4 months. It has been perfectly healthy and recently began sprouting new heads.
All of a sudden, I come home to see the head is peeling off. Any reasons why?
I recently began noticing an issue with my Duncan coral. It has been a little more closed up than normal but not much. on the side skeleton area of the duncan there is a bit of tissue recession. There is a open patch on the upper section that is surrounded by a yellow 'rim'. Where the skeleton...
Hi! I have had this Duncan coral for almost a week and it has been doing well. I just checked my tank parameters this morning and made no adjustments today since everything was good. It was happy all day but when I just looked again it has no tendrils extended, mouth is open, and I see this...
I have this Duncan coral that has been forming bulges. And overnight they have cracked open/caved in.
I don’t know if this is how Duncans grow new heads or it’s some sort of burrowing pest.
the brown tissue within the cracks doesn’t give much confidence
Hey guys!
This morning when I came down my Duncan looked all weird and twisted as picture shows.
Moved those two hammers that’s above it to that location a few days ago but it should be enough distance for them not to bother the Duncan! Any thoughts?
Thanks!
I woke up this morning and my duncan was closed and had this covering it. It was fine yesterday. I've been in the hobby less than a year so I'm not sure what to do about this. Pull it and toss it? Is it gone? Can I save it? If so, how?
Picture Attached!
I just got a Duncan a week ago, first few days he was doing great. But yesterday it completely closed up, today it’s tentacles are completely retracted and it’s mouth is open.
Is it dieing
please help.
Water parameters are all in check, only 10 point down on calcium so I...
So for the past 5 days my Duncan's have just been angry. Color looks good, flesh is fine and not receding, but it will not inflate/extend fully. I DID have to move it about a week ago, but it was open for a few days after just fine. Literally only moved it about 2 inches. Just got it to a...
Hi all,
I have a 40 g sumpless system running a canister filter.
The canister is mostly filled with Matrix and has some floss for general waste capture.
I’ve recently upgraded from FOWLR to starting with some corals, upgraded the lighting to a Kessill A160 blue.
Current stocking is 2 clowns...
Fairy new to the hobby and recently purchased my first Duncan and I'm loving it! They are reactive, they have beautiful colors, appear to be peaceful and even are a good clownfish hoast. I'd love to hear people advice, experiences, and photos!
