Guys!!! It’s been months! But I finally got a decent video of that darn work thing that’s always poking out the rock at night!!! It always comes from the same spot and seems to eat the left over food which is great! I am terrified that it’s going to take out some live stock though! Any ideas...

    Clam - snails?

Hey guys, I have a derasa clam who’s been doing great for over a month now. The other day he developed a hole in his mantle — so I’ve performed a fresh water dip and relocated him )”(unsure if something may have messed with him). After the dip, I noticed a bunch of snail shells around him...

Question about pests on new frags lps

Hope everyone is doing well , just wanted to get your opinions. I took a very long break from the hobby and recently got back in about a year ago. since then , I have spent nearly 5 figures with a large/popular company that is supposedly quarantining their corals in an attempt to be pest free...

    Brittle under frag

Have been eyeing this mushroom, only because of the tag along brittle that has been under it in the LFS for a few weeks. Can't seem to convince it to come out. Could it be stuck? Is it ok?

    Copepods?

Found these guys hanging in the corner of my tank only a few hours after the lights went off. I rushed home last night from a different town to look at my tank at home after learning about copepods. And sure enough I see these guys doing a business meeting in my tank!! I know there are different...

My bristle worm is bigger than yours

I knew I had a bristleworm that came home with my very first coral frag but I thought it also died in the cave collapse with Detroit Pistol and Grumpy Gordon (may they excavate in eternal peace) because I found a dead one when sifting the sand bed for the shrimp. But, peering into my tank before...

    Not sure what this is

Hello, have been a lurker for some time now and just wanted to see if this looks like something I should be concerned about. Not sure what this is. Looks like it’s growing on the bottom side of my live rock. It is coming out of the white looking veins of my rock.

Hi all Tank is swarming with copepods and this weekend I finally get to add a fish (still deciding on the first tank mate!) I saw this weird clam like shell on the live rock. Unkown crab in tank

Hi I found a snail size crab shell or dead crad in my tank. Its white and semi transparent so i think its the shell? I have no idea where it came from and if its an empty shell, should I be worried? A bit more details I have started my tank in march with new dry sand, and new marco rock. I...

    Niger Trigger white spot

I have a Niger Trigger fish with a white spot. I’ve had him for 3 months now and he’s been in perfect health. The spot hasn’t multiplied or changed in size. It’s hard to tell in the photo but it looks fuzzy ish. No other fish has the spot and everyone has been eating. I don’t think it’s Ich, i’m...

    Unknown Hitchhiker

These guys are all over my tank. I have looked everywhere and asked many people, and no one seems to know what these are. They seem more active at night and when trying to touch the tentacle it retracts. I know it is definitely not a bristle worm or vermitid. And I do not think these things...

    Maryland Pennsylvania SOLD Gorilla Crab

I was able to catch a gorilla crab that came along as a hitchhiker on the some live rock I added to the tank. If anyone would like it for their sump or any other reason, let me know. It’s free. I’m located in southern York County, PA and could meet in the York, PA or Baltimore, MD areas.

Fluorescent Red/Orange Bubble Growing On Rock

Anyone know what this is? It glows fluorescent orange under blue LEDs. I noticed it growing on my live rock recently. Doesn’t seem to spread or grow very rapidly. Is it a cool hitchhiker or something I need to remove? It feels almost like an anemone between my fingers.

    Unknown snail

At least three of these guys managed to hitchhike into my new nano tank on live rock. I will try to get better pictures tomorrow when the lights are back on, but they look like oyster drills to me. As far as I know, oyster drills are on the Atlantic side of FL and the rock came from the gulf...
