I've caused some controversy over on reddit, trying to get some advice on why the head on one of my corals died. Instead of that, its turned into a large ID debate lol.
This was sold to me as a Galaxea, but many are saying its a torch. If it is, it was definitely not priced as one ($15)...
Hi guys, got this extra coral as a freebie in a recent order, but it isn’t one that I recognize. Any ideas on what this is? I took one picture under blue light and another with the orange filter lens for better color accuracy. Thanks I’m advance!!
Hello, this is a 13 gallon 2.5 year old tank… only pest I have that I know of are bristle worms however I just noticed this attached to the plug of a bird nest coral. Would this be aptasia? And if so how do you recommend I take care of it, the coral isent doing so well so maybe take the whole...
it wasn’t this big when i got it. it just kept growing more and more till it got to this size. and to be completely honest, i kind of like it and would probs prefer it to be on its own with no zoas.
I woke up this morning to find half a dozen of these guys (various sizes) on my glass today. There was also one floating around in the water - a clownfish took a bite, then spit it out. The crazy thing is that I haven't added anything new (aside from RODI water) to the tank in four or five...
I’ve been battling amphidinium dinoflagellates for a while now and just noticed some small round bug-like creatures running around on the Dino’s, I’ve never observed anything like this, they move quite quickly but not like copepods do, any ideas?
I was sitting at my desk last night and saw this little crab crawling pet of my live rock and I did some research and I looked like it might be a baby teddy bear crab? I am not sure and would appreciate some help in identifying him. Also is this a good or bad hitchhiker?
(I know it’s hard to...
Hi guys
just picked up this little guy this afternoon and was labelled as a percula, I have my doubts and am thinking that it could be a ocellaris.
I liked him because of the unusual broken stripe in the middle so am happy with my purchase either way but just interested on what you guys think.
Hi there, have had slightly cloudy water and took a sample to find this guy. Not sure what type of algae this is. It has at least 2 Flagella, and is present when the lights are on. No sign of slime. Moves quickly as well.
If anyone has any idea what genus this belongs to, that’d be great!
Oil...
Hi I just got a new gorgonian and it's my first coral in my seahorse tank. I'm curious to know the identity of this species as I'm unable to find it anywhere and the lfs I got it from only knows that it is a nps Gorgonian. Any help would be appreciated
Posted are a few photos of what I believe to be either spionid worms or vermetid snails. I am leaning towards the spionid worms because I have not seen any “web like” material come out of the end, but if anyone knows please let me know? if they are spionid worms, are they harmless? Thank you!
Please help identifying these Dino’s. They rapidly move and zigzag back and forth. Im at a loss I just hope they aren’t large cell. I tried to upload a 10 second video but for some reason it isn’t allowing me.
Can anyone help me identify what is growing on the bottom of my acan? Almost looks like slime but it's the first time I've seen it. First timer in the hobby so not family with all pests or diseases. Thanks in advance.
Hi all,
I purchased a new fish yesterday, thinking it was a 6-line wrasse. It is not.
Any help on the ID would be appreciated!
White body with lateral black lines, 3 per side. Dorsal fin also has black lateral line. Some black spots at rear coming from the lowest black line. Head and neck...
It's been a while that these white dots started appearing. At first I thought they were copepods so I just let them be.
But looks like they could be snail eggs or something.
I have astrea and trochus snails, bristleworms, lots of copepods and amphipods in the tank so could be one of those...
