Hi all,
Almost a year on from when I planned to do so I finally got my macro algae tank going. It is a 65g display that I plan to do only nano fish in. Say max of about 3”.
What are your favourite nano fish? The most outgoing? Favourite gobies? Any that you really didn’t enjoy keeping?
I...
Good morning guys, it is a slow Monday so I decided to reach out on R2R to get some ideas on a new nano tank project I have.
Here is what's going on - last month I bought a 10 gallon tank from Petco (see pic) to set up as a nursery for some baby seahorses as my male was pregnant. Well, he gave...
So I bought this macroalgae like a month ago and it doesn't look too great... But also I'm not sure. Maybe it could be sexual? Not sure. Hoping someone can tell me if I should pull it out before it wrecks my parameters. Thanks!
My Macroalgae seems like its dying, new growth has turn whitish.
Has it gone sexual or something else like lack of nutrients?
This tank is a cycled tank without corals yet. nitrates are around 20-40ppm and phosphates are around 0.6-1 ppm. Light is strong freshwater plant light.
If so what...
I bought some red oro macroalgae from the algae barn and added it to my DT on Friday. I dipped it in freshwater when it arrived and used a rubber band and super glue to attach it to a frag before adding it to my tank. It is already turning green! Any advise for how to better care for macroalgae...

I recently set up my new saltwater aqurium and bought some live rocks and sand. I saw this tiny green leaf thingy sticking out of one of the live rocks. Do u guys think this is the start of macro algea growing? I think the rock came with it, aleardy attachted on there.

But have a few more than I’m needing some ID on!

A couple months back, I was taking a stroll through the local dollar general. Well, one of 5, because when there’s one dollar general, there’s another. While looking in the sale section, I noticed a jar, a unique one at that. It was tilted sideways and looked a little..odd? Different? Strange...
Hello everyone! I have decided to dip my hands into the saltwater side of the hobby, with a twist! Something that has always kept me from saltwater tanks was a combination of the cost, the difficulty, and especially the traditional blue lights.
Recently however, I discovered macroalgae tanks! I...
Hello,
I’m realising a gorgonian tank and macroalgae would suit in just perfect.
I haven’t found any EU shop that sells them (excluding UK due to Brexit). Coralaxy currently has only one type of macroalgae, but thats all I could find.
Can anyone help me?
Cheers

So I've been working on my 20 gallon macroalgae tank for about 2 months now, and it's gotten to the stage where I feel it's finially ready for some fish. I started researching several months ago, and already found a few species of fish that I'd like to keep. However, I've been doing more...
Greetings! I've been keeping freshwater planted tanks for a couple years now, and after much hesitation, decided to try put saltwater! I currently only have a 2 month old 20 gallon, where I plan on keeping macroalgae, some softies, and a couple small fish and inverts. I'm hoping I can apply some...
The first thing you should do is slightly open the lid of the jar that the macroalgae is in. The reason for this is to adjust the pH levels slowly. With the lid slightly open, the carbon dioxide levels and oxygen levels will become normal, and the pH will gradually rise. Next, acclimate the...
