    Dumb question... water flow.

Hi all! I have a Biocube 32 and might have jumped the gun with regard to filtration and "upgrades"... I bought the inTank Media Basket AND the inTank Fuge Basket... Well, I thought I would put my (quickly growing in the second chamber of the AIO!) ball of Chaeto in the Fuge. BUT. How will...

Fluctuating Water Level in Sock Chamber. Suggestions?

I have a 90 gallon Pro Star AIO that we filled up for the first time earlier this week. We cannot get the water level in the filter sock chamber to stay at a consistent level. We've tried dialing up/down the water flow as well as manipulating the level of the return pump and the water is still...

Hello Everyone! I have a fluval EVO 13.5 reef tank. I recently upgraded my wavemaker pump from a normal fluval one to AI Nero 3. The pump it self is rated up to 2000G per hour and when i was researching about it the site mentioned it goes down to 1% power. But it wasn't until after i placed it...

Started out again 7 weeks ago with a Fluval all in one 15 gallon nano tank. Which I want some fish and some coral in. I have to confess I have no idea of what curls I...

    Vortech MP40 upgrade

So a while back I purchased a used MP40. Prior to that I had a MP10QD. The MP40 was significantly noisier. I upgraded the driver to the QD driver. That helped out a lot, but not enough. My question is would upgrading the wet side to the newer version be the next logical step as far as noise...

Breathing, we take it for granted.

Ok the title seems to be misplaced but before you switch to a different thread read this quote. "If you had to breathe (respire) as a coral breathes, this would be the equivalent of holding your lungs outside of your body, inside out, and just hoping that the wind would blow hard and long enough...

    Biocube 32 Filtration

So I have a LED Biocube 32. I am using the stock filtration basket for now. My question is how high should the water be in the back. I see on the 29's there was a high water mark, however my 32 only has a min mark. I filled the back and my media kept floating and I noticed that defeated the...

Trigger Sump Ruby 30 vs. Emerald 26

Hi, All - I'm upgrading and tossing my Aqueon ProFlex, apparently too much flex as it has begun bowing over the years and swear the stand is damp on colder days, but can't find the leak. Having a hard time deciding which Trigger Sump I'd like to go with, Emerald 26 or Ruby 30. Here is my...

    Gyre vs MP40 vs ??? for a 120 Gallon ???

Hi Everyone ! I finally decided that I'm going to set-up both a 120 gallon AND a 75 gallon. Both will be mixed reefs, so I'm in the process of purchasing all of the equipment I'll need, and then I'll start two separate build threads to chronicle my journey. For flow, what do you guys suggest...

What powerhead is best for the low flow corals I want?

Hey Reefers, I've got a question. First I'll let you know what I've got going on in my tank. Currently I have a 600 gph power head and a aqua-tech 30-60 HOB filter in a 30 gal reef tank(30 x 12 x 18). I'm working with a saddleback clown, goby, and blenny, a snail and a Scarlett hermit(hoping to...
