They do not work with loc line, they really missed the boat on that one not making them compatible.

I am more old school than all of you and I like the idea. Old or not they have an application in many tanks.
I use very old school, 30 year old pumps.

They work quite well by using the Venturi effect. Basically, they shoot a small, fast stream of water through the center. This creates a low pressure zone that pulls tank water in the sides of the nozzle and results in a large amount of water flowing out the front of the nozzle.

I was just cracking a joke since it's not possible to compress water and that's what was said in the video. It's more about venturi and pressure, as described by breadman

They work great, decrease volume a bit, but a lot more flow. You need to use a pressure rated pump to get the most benefit.

I'm a little confused, I always thought volume was flow?

Me too. Mass flow rate is the amount of mass passing a point in a given time. Volume is the amount of volume passing . If i remove my Accelerator, i have to add 5 gallons to my sump to keep at the same level, while the flow in the DT slows. Think of the Accelerator as a little jet engine, the reduction at the nozzle caused flow at the low pressure area on the sides. Or something like that.

Since water is incompressible, mass has to equal volume. This makes sense for any compressible gas, but not liquid, IMO

*edit - i think the thing you're looking for is more water from the DT is recirculated through this nozzle, as opposed to flow only being from the return pump into the DT.
