I'm on a super low carb diet.
I'm not happy about it but I've lost a ton of weight and am feeling much better.
Plus if I start eating chips now, I'll never stop. ;)

It really is one of the hardest yet best things I've ever done.

First taco salad in 4 months.
Just no chips.
We had our monthly council meeting at church tonight. One of our staff members decided to make us carne asada tacos instead of our normal pizza delivery! Fresh carne asada with cilantro and salsa.

can any of you kind people please give me some thoughts on this algae im starting to get? im wondering if its from not having enough flow in this area...idk...it's

I have an urchin and an emerald crab.
Hermits, Turbo Snails, Cerith Snails, Hector's or Court Jester Goby, Sailfin Tangs will just to name a few. Now, with that said, if parameters are out of line it'll keep growing.

Flux RX or Reef Flux can temporarily eliminate it sometimes, but with mine it did nothing until the iron was depleted.

I believe Parker tried Flux RX for his GHA and it didn't do anything either.

As Kevin mentioned, sometimes dosing Hydrogen Peroxide works. I did that for a while and everything seemed good. I forget why I stopped...

How long do you soak them? I will have to try the citric acid.
Citric Acid won't necessarily work for the algae. I'd unplug it, pull it out of the tank give it a quick splash of hydrogen peroxide and let it sit for 5-10 minutes, and THEN a good 30-60 minute soak in citric acid (while running) to remove scale and such.

I usually do about a half strength citric acid mix and run it for an hour or 4 when I soak mine.

Pretty common and yes,you can try a little more flow.
Just unsightly and will go away on it's own as the tank matures if you aren't feeding it.
We've all been there.
Using rodi water?

But they taste like straight olive oil for some reason which is weird...
I agree but anything is better than all that sausage I've been eating.

havent tested yet this week. have my water ready for a good water change tomorrow. then i can get you some numbers...i know my phos and nitrates run high. have a restful night! feel better walker!
