You don't have to add all that at once.
I started with 25 pounds and added later.
I just bought 12 pound base rock from petco for $20.

I got most of mine for $50 from a guy off of craigslist.
He was breaking his tank down and had it all in buckets of tank water.
I drove over, put lids on the buckets and carted it home.

This is after 3000 then 3400 grit.
Much better.
You can actually see the reflection but still hazy.
The magnet works so much better than by hand.

I did something similar, I used the rocks from the biocube but I bought the rest one by one, $40 each rock but one at a time

I'm going to write an article on how to do this but I need to finish the process.
I'm not worried about the scratches as much as the haze.
The scratches don't bother me.
I don't know where the haze has come from but it'll be nice when it's gone.
Each panel takes me about 15 minutes.
I'll keep everyone posted.
