Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Better late than never, my wife's version of Swamp Soup

1 package (1 lb) original Conecuh sausage sliced
1 onion chopped
1 turnup diced
1 can black eyed peas undrained
2 cans collard greens undrained
1 can turnup greens undrained
1 can diced tomatoes drained
1/2 to 1 qt chicken chicken broth
about 1/2 teaspoon of creole seasoning
she sprinkles salt, so add to your taste, same with pepper

soup in picture had 2 cloves of garlic added when cooking onion, first time she added it.
could not taste the garlic.

cook sausage in pot with onion until onion starts going clear
add other ingredients, add broth until you get the consistency you want
simmer for about an hour

good with corn bread

this is a very good stone soup to build on, we have tried other bean types but settled on black eyes.

Oh my gosh I'm taking a screen shot of the recipe because I must try it! Sounds like it would be kind of healthy as well.

Good morning Smorgs!!
Check out this check I got in the mail yesterday!!
Wooohoo! Looks like I’m going to get some more corals. I never thought I’d actually get some money for this. Especially since the Army already pays me for hearing loss and brain damage.
What a nice surprise! Who actually wore hearing protection in combat though?
Maybe a random lieutenant while he spent days trying to read a map with gps coordinates?…lol if you know you know. For some reason lieutenants always had problems reading maps.
God forbid if they have to give fire grid coordinates. We had one that read the incoming rounds from radar and placed them instead of the radar coordinates of where the incoming was coming from. We fired on ourselves. Luckily no one was hurt from it that night. Crazy thing is that lieutenant never was even reprimanded we must have had too much other stuff going on at the time I guess.
Anyway hope everyone has a great day I know that I am!!!
Woooohoooo!

That's great news! I truly feel we don't do enough asa country to take care of our vets.

It seems that the zoas are going to be successful, so hard to frag them

I just came across this article yesterday.
I’ve been Willy nilly for years in Zoa cutting and handling. Not anymore ever again.
I’ll wear gloves and eye protection going forward.
I knew about the toxicity but never met anyone that was affected by it.

We sold a house my husband inherited from his aunt and while we will do responsible stuff with most of the money I'm going to bug him until he gives me at least a little for more corals or fish... We got the check yesterday and I'm guessing the bank will put a hold on it for 10 days.

The best thing you can do for Veterans and active duty military is to pay attention to what our government does and help keep them in check.
My worst injuries are moral and ethical ones.

Heck yeah!! You need to start buttering him up!…lol

I made sure when I was handling mine last weekend to wear protective gear. And after seeing all the bristle worms last night I don't think I will ever handle the rocks with out gloves again. Lol

I was at an impasse for chemiclean. 3 powerheads and 1 gyre, nearly afraid to tear down LPS because of flow. I am working from home so I was turkey baster the coral at least 3 times per day but it was still suffocating corals. Water change every 3 days followed by micro bacter 7 (5ml). I kept 72h not 48h as nothing was done yet. I finished with 20% remaining that disappeared with water change, turkey baster and coral snow. Now the balance between nitrate and phosphate is more stastable.
so you didn't use chemiclean? I got microbactor 7 and calcium Carbonate coming. As well as more pods and some amphipods. Hopefully this is enough in conjunction with the rock. I don't even want to eliminate it. Just slow it down to the point that I don't wake up to sheets of it suffocating everything. It gets so bad I can even grow algae because the cyano covers and smothers it

He's pretty easy to butter up and he normally gives me what I ask for as long as it's within reason. When we sold the land that she left him he gave me money to fence in land and get my horse do while he's very responsible he's not stingy.

those are Palythoas, they are in the same family Zoanthidae but at the same time they are a little different although they both produce a toxin called palytoxin, anyway when working with the tank we should be very careful, I am not one to use gloves and masks but if I am going to cut something I try to put my hand in and put my face next to the glass away from the surface and then immediately wash my hands up to my shoulder without touching anything

Like what?
Never heard of the sausage, making Luis’s yellow rice dish two weeks ago I had to substitute a sausage for chorizo because they didn’t have links. I’ve never bought collard or turnip greens so hoping my grocery store carries them.

I used it because it was at the point to kill coral but after 72h it took out around 80%. I was turkey baster 3 times per day at least before with water changes every 3 days, coral snow, micro bacter 7 but still covered. The remaining went out with water changes, micro bacter 7 and coral snow. I think also the tank stabilized.

You can try making that yellow rice with pork chops, jam, chicken..... ;)

It would probably be great with a lot of smoked sausages, as long as they are not sweet. "Louisiana" style is typically spicier

I’m currently

I’m currently clearing land for a horse I’m buying for my wife. My two sons helping me.
What a coincidence….lol
And you live in one of my most favorite places on earth.

thats why paly's are not on my list.

its the other way around for me, my wife is so tight with money she squeaks when she walks
