Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Yeah. Me too. I first heard this song when my boys showed it to me.
Lost my daddy to cancer almost 10 years ago and miss him every day. Last thing he said to me was he loved me and then baby please don't cry...

I have never had as many problems with any tank I've ever had as I've had with this one....

Totally understand sometimes I just want to throw the towel in and turn the tank into a cichlids tank...

So I don't know if anyone remembers that I wet sanded the front and sides of this tank but I never sanded the back.

Well....
The back was covered in this rusty brown algae crap that I couldn't remove.
I have no idea what tarnished the acrylic so badly, or why it was so hazy but this stuff adhered itself to the back.
It would not come off.
So I took some 400 grit wet/dry sandpaper and sanded it off.
What a pain.

But what is happening?
Testing phosphate last week I was at 1.79.
I honestly have never seen that high, thought the tank just blows up at that high. :thinking-face: ;)
I'm thinking oh no might be part of the problem.
I've always had brown algea no worries but it would not come off the back or bottom.
So ugly.

But is it some kind of coralline algae?

Anyways I bought this super cheap hob filter from Amazon a couple months ago I never used.

I filled 2 bags with a tbls of rowaphos and in a week I'm down to...

Rowa is such a nice medium to work with.
I've never used it in a HOB but it's greatest feature is it won't clump or harden.
And it works.

But is it some kind of coralline algae?
I thought that at first but I don't think so Luis.
I have no idea, really, but it only attached to the unsanded parts of the tank.
I don't know if it was feeding off whatever was on the acrylic or what.
I'm sure the high phosphates weren't helping but it's mostly gone now.

But I don't think it's the Po4 Joel, I'm driving the Po4 right now at 1.6 and I don't have that problem, I'm lowering it little by little because it was at 1.8, I want to take it to 0.8 and stay there for a while
