I did just that! They came out really nice! I'll snap some pics this afternoon when I run home to pack up my fishing gear! I'm hoping things start perking up. One of my birdsnest doesn't look too happy and neither does one of my encrusting montis. I turned my lights down 10% as the screen let's a lot more visible light in. Figure in a few weeks I'll up my lights a little bit again till I get back to where I like it

Yeah, I am still waiting on my AutoAqua smart stirrer
My mailbox is 15 feet from my house.
Literally.
If it's too big, they leave a slip and I have to go downtown to pick it up with ID.
Can't just walk it to the door.
Never used to be that way.
The mail person was your buddy back in the day....

I had gha in a spot I couldn't get deep under a rock, I added the conch you know about a month ago and he ate it all lol.

Anyone ever kept a giant knobby creeper? How was its gha cleaning efficiency? Also what do you guys know about bullet gobies?

Phyto culture facility, Wes?

I've got 3 new varieties showing up today. I'll be doing 8 bottles - 32 oz each.

Wes @Imrahilwjz can I recommend running a second half gallon jug (or less) of each strain? These have a tendency to crash and having a backup batch keeps you from having to purchase a new culture to start over.

Good morning Smorg nerds. Jeez a new record, this is becoming a full time job!

I have them as well, I thought they didn’t breed in our tanks.

Whelks do (and Nassarius are a variety of Whelk) but they rarely make it to the baby stage because they get gobbled up frequently.

Are there any snails that do breed in our tanks that are actually worth having? I'd love a self sustaining cuc :thinking-face:
Trochus, Stomatellas, occasionally Ceriths...

Sorry Camden I have not and I’m not familiar with that goby. Hopefully someone can chime in with the information you’re looking for.

All good man.

How did they breed?
So... Trochus snails all breed at the same time in our tanks - 1 snail triggers a massive spawning event and all the females release eggs into the water column and all the names release sperm into the water column. Your tank is usually cloudy for a half hour or so during this timeframe. A few days later, little tiny dots appear and usually within a week or two, baby Trochus are visible crawling on the rocks and glass. Two Trochus can turn into 100 very quickly which is great for tanks like mine with snail eaters.

USPS hasn't delivered any packages to my house for 2 monthes... if it won't fit in a mailbox they say they can't access my driveway. Meanwhile there's toyota camrys driving up my road on the daily. The drivers a princess and won't drive if there's even a puddle on our dirt road. Absolutely terrible service
That poor princess! What's his name?

Those Bullet Gobies (also called Banded Dragon or sometimes Tiger Gobies) are sand "sifters". They're not a true sand sifting Goby, but the bulk of thei food comes from the sand bed. They're a meat eating goby rather than an algae eater, so you'll want to make sure you have pods and a "dirty" sand bed usually.

That is fantastic Tim! What light works best for you, and do you keep the salinity slightly lower than your tank water. This is my next venture and I'm still in the research phase

I did something stupid last week end. I was rearranging the sockets on a new furniture for the 2nd aquarium. 1 or 2 hours later, I was in the garden, my daughter came to me saying it smells bad. I went inside and smelt burn so I went to the aquarium and the heater was outside water on the glass of the sump and it burnt one plastic attachment. I put sump water on it and switch it off. Once cold I switch it back as the AC is at 26 it should not work a lot. I was checking it but at some point I had to go dinner outside so I touch it, it was not happy and explode just outside the sump and kill a power strip. Since I didn't put back the new heater and the tank is at 24.7. lesson learnt when moving socket it can made slide the heater on the glasses above water and the inkbird doesn't alarm you at it is not in the water.
