I'm reading all these late but I thought the question was for eating and not in our tanks. but Kevin proves me wrong frequently about whether or not his bird feeder is on an angle or not.

No it was for tanks. Although you make me think, plenty of varieties of fresh water catfish at the restaurants and grocery stores but I’ve never seen a saltwater catfish. :thinking-face:

You get to start early up there! Buying the seedlings next weekend and I’m going to get them going in our sunroom with the blinds up. If the weather forecast changes I’m going to turn over the bed and add a couple more layers of topsoil. I haven’t added any in a couple of years and it’s a raised bed that seems to settle lower over time. I wish we hadn’t forgot to plant the garlic last fall!

no. a few years ago I got really sick and was really tough to go outside and water the garden. so I bought a greenhouse and put it in the garage so it was closer to water. Perfect day every day when you control the sun, water and temperature. You can accelerate the season too.

I say cod because it eats garbage from the bottom. closest to cat.

I've been trying to take a good photo of the Exquisite all morning, but today it's impossible. It's generating a beautiful blue color on its fins.

It's so impossible to capture these guys without them being blurry, with that being said, I can tell it is gorgeous!

There are two types in the Northern Gulf. The hardheaded, which is useless. They taste terrible and have a toxin on all 3 barbs. You CAN use them for cobia/lemonfish bait. (Top)
Then there is the larger gaftopsail channel catfish. They get much larger and are delicious! (Bottom)

So there is an edible saltwater channel cat? It’s beautiful. My oldest son stabbed by one of the barbs and his hand swelled up to more than double the size.

Kevin! My family is doing two raised beds this year. We're starting our seeds in side, we should be planting them outside soon, I doubt it gets below 60 degrees here again until around Halloween. Right now we have large Heirloom and black cherry tomatoes, Heirloom Alabama red okra, purple dragon's tongue snap beans, and some chineese 5 color peppers.

I feel for him. That is an awful pain. Yeah they have long ribbon fins and are very beautiful. They really taste more like a redfish or drum than a typical saltwater catfish, but it is beautiful clean meat.

I just cleaned mine about 2 weeks ago. Bought replacement flavorizer bars because the were probably 4-5 years old and pretty worn. but scraped the crud off and soaked my grates in PBW. But I'll try that out when I go to clean again.

haven't tried that. I've been using the felt bags in the greenhouse. Supposed to aerate the roots but the problem is they do not retain moisture or really even get much water in the middle of the bag. AFter this round was thinking to try out hydroponic gardening in 5 gallon buckets.
