I used to catch fish like that back in the 70’s on Three Mile Island.

Agreed. The last time I really enjoyed crab it was during a scuba diving trip on the Oregon Coast. There were about a dozen people cracking the crab and everybody's crab was cooked with garlic and butter in the same pan. I think the experience probably enhanced the flavor.
only had had king crab legs and it tends to be dry an stringy. Otherwise it's been in stuffed clams I eat and you can't tell the difference. but seriously, if you add a bottle of beer to the boil, it changes the shellfish flavor and separates the meat from the shell easier. I cook lobster, clams and shrimp always this way. I use Harp later.

Same here. When I was a kid I despised most seafood. I've learned to like shrimp, crab (sometimes), squid, and white fish.
He's aware. 😊
I liked sea food as a child. My dad used to like to tell the story about the one time he took me fishing in the 70’s when we lived in CT. I would never want to leave so when he said we were packing things up I began protesting and he said that he would let me clean the fish. I was so excited I got my line out of the water and jumped in the car.

I like scallops and crab, but crabs not worth the effort 90% of the time
As a kid I LOVED Boston clam chowder until the last time I had it at a restaurant I got food poisoning, kept my next to a toilet for 12 hours. Today the thought of it makes me nauseous and I would probably vomit if I saw and smelled it. But I love clams and can eat them with no problem.

That sounds awesome!

I love King crab legs! Let me tell you a story about the best day of my life, better than my wedding day, my children’s births and even better than the day my daughter became someone else’s problem. We were on my friends 67’ SeaRay on Lake Erie with my two oldest ( my third wasn’t born yet and my friend’s wife and two kids. We went to Put in Bay after the season, no place to take kids during the season, that island is like Mardi Gras beads and all. We went into a restaurant that had a all you can eat buffet with king crab legs along with other. I had never walked away from eating king crab legs full so I decided to eat nothing else until I was stuffed. When I couldn’t eat any more and I had butter running down my chin and the front of my shirt I thought to myself this was the best day ever!

Boston? I only have had New England (creamy milk), Manhattan (red), Rhode Island (clear). Maybe you got sick because it was really "Boston"?

I won't tell your fam you said that but I can say this. NEVER eat shellfish from an all you can eat buffet in the desert. I paid the $22 and went to town in Vegas. Nope, never again.
