Tim, I've already bagged a doe this bow season. Once gun season starts, I have 10 doe tags to fill. I'll keep 3-4 for the freezer and donate the rest. You deer hunting this year? I don't take bucks, I don't think the meat is as good since they are in rut and full of hormones.

I also got a doe last weekend! We will be going again next weekend we are allowed 10 does and two bucks in Georgia we normally shoot for 6-7 deer between me and my husband to have enough for the year then we have a couple of friends that are old and or disabled that can't hunt anymore and if we can we will get one for them.

That's awesome that you are able to share your good fortune! I only keep 3-4 because my wife really isn't fond of venison. I mean, she'll eat it but only certain cuts... like the tenderloin and a roast. So, I eat most of it. Which I am perfectly fine!! This year, I may keep 4-5 and do a bunch of summer sausage. She loves the sausage. (Kevin, I'm talking summer sausage made from venison. Keep your dirty comments to yourself! ) I should add in there, I'll keep my dirty comments out of it as well.

We are like 95% sure River will be coming home with us today! He has passed all of his tests and even pulled the NG tube out of his nose for us because he was eating so well. Thank you, everyone, for bearing with my absence over the past week, and thank you everyone for the thoughts and prayers.

I did not get drawn unfortunately. In Arizona we are allowed 1 deer total per year. Only youth can hunt does and there are only about 25 of those tags annually.

Archery is over the counter but I haven't been using my bow as often as I had in the past and currently I'm fairly certain I have a rotator cuff issue so now hunting is out until I get that figured out.
