Hard to tell but if it is, the way things are now, that's easily 30 bucks worth of aiptasia.

It's a good thing I paid the extra $10 for before 12pm delivery because the FoxFaces bag had an active leak. The hawkfish is so tiny maybe 2" at most.

What's the consensus here, do you all drip acclimate shipped fish or not due to the ammonia risk. I've never ordered fish online other than once with Biota when they first started shipping YT's and both attempts were DOA.

I have tried both and I have found both with salt and fresh I have had a better survival rate with not drip acclimating. For discus which are super sensitive the recommendation is always temp acclimation then plopping them in.

That's what I'm thinking, my only worry which I'll confirm shortly when temp acclimating is done is what salinity they ship in. Rise in salinity is always the hardest in fish vs drop and usually these facilities keep fish at a very low salinity vs 1.026 that we run in Reefs.

I would think as long as they are somewhat close it should be fine. My tank dropped suddenly a couple of weeks ago if you remember and my fish were all fine. Mine went from 1.026 to 1.021.

I just checked and it's at 1.018 in their bag and my water is at 1.026. Rise in salinity is usually the hardest on a fish while you can drop salinity fast without much stress. So I think i'm going to add 1ml of Seachem Prime to my 5 gal bucket and drip acclimate them in there briefly.

Ah yes the prime will help! I think that's a great plan.

FoxFace is larger than what I ordered, 5"+ I guess I can't complain but it'll be cramped in the observation tank lol and here's the tiny little hawkfish that would definitely fit through my IM's cover but should be ok with the fine mesh on the Kraken lid for the nano for now.

Do they normally have that yellow dot? I can't seem to find any pictures head on, I thought it was neat like a birthmark lol
