Question for those running an RODI unit... I've had to replace my DI resin the other day but thinking it's a good time to replace my carbon block as well since i have Chloramines and my block is rated for 600 gallons production if Chloramines are present which are in my case.

Does this sound correct for flushing the carbon block? Remove the DI resin so the chamber is empty and then I'll have to disconnect or remove the RO membrane to flush the carbon block until it runs clear?

That's what I do for my fridge. I can't speak to an RODI because, well, because it's me. But I think that's the correct way.

Speaking of which the tap water tank is doing ok so far. Pod population is at all time high and the yellow polyps plus mushroom are fine but since I was feeding that tank again I am having to clean the glass every 2 days

Likely going to have a higher TDS/TSS than RODI and also you're adding nutrients, calcium, magnesium, and alkalinity plus a bunch of trace minerals at a minimum.

So i have to be mindful of my levels im assuming since there's not much in there to consume.

Yep. When my 125 was first setup and running on tap water (especially in the winter months - long story?) I was 15+ dKh on alkalinity if I didn't use muriatic acid to drop source water prior to mixing.

Now, since I have "needy" corals I still have to dose even with high alkalinity top off water (kinda basically like Kalk and AFR in my top off?).

Oh 100% id never do it in my main display, this is just an experiment of sorts. My tap is usually around 140 to 155 but who knows what's in there.
