I know this is geared towards @Calmwaters but thank you for dropping this incredible information on the Smorgasbord. You went into a lot of detail, and I think this is how we keep the hobby growing.

Haha I’ve actually been very tempted to start composing a “ultimate guide to bulkhead fittings” type thread for sticky purposes… But, the task of covering everything in both great detail, and a digestible format has been a daunting proposition!

(There’s already an excellent “bulkhead install guide” sticky thread, though it focuses specifically on installation tips/tricks, and don’t get into the increasingly complex task of sourcing the correct bulkhead at the correct size, or the best ways to plumb them! [ie, using NPT on a bulkhead’s nut side, so you can actually remove the bulkhead later without taking a hacksaw to plumbing!])

spreading pesticide, then more grub control, then herbicide snd hoping it rains to water it.
Then sanded down the keel to install and looks like I might be able to get going next week. I see a 60 and a 72 degree day back to back. so hoping to fiberglass a hull.

How was your Easter? I just did lots of cooking and movies with kids.

We did similar last Saturday although we used store-bought ingredients and just cooked/assembled them. Homemade bacon and eggs aren't too bad if you have the room, homemade biscuits are easy, but homemade cheese takes a really long time.

The bacon was a drag too Tom. We've been raising that hog since 2018.

I do enjoy it! The biggest thing holding me back is free time these days… maybe once work slows down, and my current project tank is just sitting, waiting for silicone to cure…

Oh absolutely! I see it pretty much daily! — the size of those glass holes in a tank can really paint you into a corner, flow-wise, if you don’t already have a specific bulkhead in mind!

— For the sake of brevity, I’ll just say that I use Hayward brand bulkheads whenever the situation reasonably allows them these days…

— not because I’m sponsored in any way, but because they make a great product, and will probably be around for decades to come selling identical bulkheads/replacement gaskets!
