or move the tank to a properly built area of the floor..
Assuming that’s the issue, agreed!

I also need to confirm the actual dimensions of his flooring joists… they look smaller than 2x10, at least from the photos…

How much more of the roof do you have left?
just the two over hangs over the front door and the garage..
The main roof, (3000 square feet area) the two big rectangle and the cap is done.
Added a 48 foot ridge vent to the 65 foot ridge run that will let hot air out.
I could feel the heat escape as I cut the needed 3/4 inch vent into the top of the roof..

meaning the floor covering either nailed down wood planks or snap in place cheap laminate floor cover is moving and also perhaps the floor plywood(or what ever the builder used as a base) is moving due to weight, not nailed down to the rafters properly or damage either by water. There could be a free floating seam which is in between two rafters and has nothing to be nailed to.
In the end, what ever the floor issue is causing the movement, IT CAN NOT HANDLE the current water weight so why is the plan to add more weight with a sump...???
I was told I’d be ok for weight with the 2x6’ for the stairs but I didn’t want to chance it and added 4x4’s across a few beams with 4x4 support posts where each corner of the tank would be. Made it into shelves to hold the extra equipment. The tank is in our foyer of wrap around stairs.

Then you can start on the new tank right? Lol

No. I just heard a floor with deflection issues and added a picture of what I did for supports. I have no idea who the other floor person is. I figured I might have problems with 2000 pounds there and 8 people standing there looking at the tank and wanted to ensure it would be ok.

I feel the same way about going climbing 2-3 a week and hanging out with all of R2R. People always give me a funny look when I tell them about R2R
Same. My brother, "You post pictures of your kid on a reef forum?!"
