What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Agree

Agree! We have to figure out the problem first - then consider FluxRX. Remember, I had to find my problem, fix my problem and during all that, continually take GHA out of tank manually
What was your problem.

Look more towards products you use that may have iron in them.
Bad RO filter again can be a cause too.
So I think the first 2 causes could be bad RO/saltwater, iron.

That is a good place to start. :smiling-face-with-smiling-eyes:
Check your products.
Do things one thing at a time.
That's the only way to figure out what it is.

By test all three water sources, that will narrow it down.

Then, look at all equipment, anything leaking/rusting/etc.

Ok. Let’s go in order cause it’s been a tough day.

1) retest the water in your display
2) if you have a jug of the LFS saltwater, test that
3) I believe you use distilled water like i do for top off, correct? If not, test that as well.

Once we determine water, it will be easier to eliminate where the problem or problems are.

Like you, I had a GHA outbreak that was starting to affect my smaller frags. Once I figured out the human error, and corrected that FIRST, I went ahead and did a 14- day treatment of FluxRx and that totally got rid of it. We can discuss that in detail later.
Well written.

What was your problem.

When we replaced my ReefMat roll a month ago, it seemed a bit wonky and not rolling perfectly symmetrical. adjusted and it seemed fine; yet I noticed it wasn’t rolling as frequently.

When I went to change the Chemi- Pure bag that sits inside the box attached to bottom of RM, it was so bad you would have thought I’d had it on there for 6 months, not 30 days! In retrospect, I was smelling more of a stinky tank smelll for the first time but didn’t think to check that bag - total newbie mistake.

Also, I was over feeding just a bit on some liquid foods I had just got. So it was a perfect storm, not just one thing

Everything adjusted, and decided to do a 14-day treatment of Reef Flux RX along with increasing my daily phyto. All GHA gone by 12th day.

Check anything with magnets to make sure there's no rust - that's where mine was.

@tbrown DUDE! Just saw ur Insta photo of that zoa!! You know I’m trying to figure out taking pics of my tank.

Spill the secret!!! That can’t just be a mobile phone, can it?!?!
It is. Motorola Edge, Pro mode, 7500k white balance, very minimal post editing.

Hmmm, I don’t think my iPhone 13 mini is that robust. Darn.

What do you mean by 7500k white balance?

Mine was a glass scraper, others have had failed wetsides on powerheads.

My biggest fear - that’s why I never leave glass cleaner/scraper in tank. Pain in the hienie every time I want to use it though

I adjust the white balance to 7500 kelvin. It basically works like a yellow filter. 10,000 kelvin is closer to orange. The more blue your light, the higher white balance adjustment is needed.

I haven't left my new one in ever since.

Mine happened about 3-4 years in.
Pretty bad.
Was getting water from the supermarket machine. Found out the machine was actually broken and leeching everything back into the water.
In Idaho the minerals in the ground are big time. Iron and phosphorus.
Lots of radon up here too.
I changed water source and it went away.
Also changed salt too.

I’m being really dizzy, but are these light adjustments on the phone or lighting in tank?

I only know Kelvin from Star Trek
