Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Considering what you've put your knees through over the years, that is actually good news.
Put the stationary bike in front of the tank!
My thinking exactly!

I have my elliptical positioned where I can see my tanks...

I just stand in front of my tanks. All you go-getters using your ta kanas an excuse to exercise. I use mine as an excuse to be lazy.

I didn't say I actually use it... it's just there incase I get motivated by the tanks to use it...

The Flux RX should be arriving later this week. I have some questions about it and this will help me prepare to use it.

Is it reef safe?
Will it harm the corals and fish?
Will it harm invertebrates like shrimp, snails, hermits, and urchins?
Do I need to do water changes during the treatment?
Do I need to do big water change after?
Should I do some manual removal during treatment to help?

If you can think any other questions let me know.

Thanks

I followed the directions exactly. I turned off UV Sterilizer during this time. I don’t know what it says about skimmers, since I don’t have one. Again, follow directions exactly. When I read on R2R about everyone using it, most common reason it didn’t work is they didn’t follow directions and either put less Flux in or didn’t wait the full 14 days

It is reef safe, and did not hurt ANYTHING in my tank other then the GHA.
You do not do Any water changes during the 14 day treatment. I did one the day before I started treatment though,
Yes, directions say to do water change after 14 days, I chose to do a large one - 35%.
Yes, keep manually removing long stuff, especially the GHA as it starts to turn grey and die. Also, if you see it breaking off and floating in water column, Use a net to scoop out

Well written, again. :)

New cheato arrived today.
It looks 100 times better than the last batch.
Using the light I put over my little tank a couple of weeks ago which I hated the colors of but should be perfect for the cheato.
And my room is like a disco too. ;)

So the little tank got it's new light.
This is nice and white the way I like it.
I'm chalking up to user error the last batch of cheato
Hopefully I am giving this enough light.
I'm going to run it only 12 hours a day.
Any advice please dole it out so this batch will make it.
But I'm overjoyed at my little tank lighting now. :smiling-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Love the new lighting. The corals are subtle, yet the light difines each one, allowing you to appreciate the individual beauty- not always the case with a white spectrum focus,

will the smell of the pvc cement go away? I assume it’s not good for the fish.
It does, mine stuck around for 24 hours. Fish didn’t seem to mind, but i did and opened all windows - even during that first nite.

Yes smell is heinous been in trouble for that one ;) open some windows won't hurt the fish as far as I know and has never impacted mine that I know of.

Question: Do any of you use an app to track water-testing results? I currently jot it down on a yellow legal pad, but not very efficient when wanting to review trends, and I also rather not have to do an Excel spreadsheet.

I just want something simple, put in number and it shows me a chart. No fancy features needed. I’m sure there are many to choose from, but would rather here from you all and your experience if in fact you use an APP.

I took a wiff down the tube and felt about a billion brain cells dying off. So nervous about leaks but all is set up. Gotta figure a day where I have a good 24 hours to start making water.
