Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
I am usually hesitant on posting my social media however I trust this group.
ive seen things most eyes can’t handle and this specific one has given me PTSD and I have taken some time off of work.
My son has his EMT and structure as well as wildland fire certs. Drove for AMR and saw some stuff as well. He left AMR and took up tree climbing/arborist. He is looking at a return and his Paramedic as a possible future move.

Truly appreciate your skills!

If he has questions, I’m always a message away!

Love it! What is the idea? Do different height levels or everything similar?
I don't really know what I am doing, I kind of just threw them together. I have another giant rock, maybe 10ish pounds. I could break it up to create smaller pieces and kind of make it more interesting.

How about a long bridge? Or you could recreate stone henge?

So I got 42 ponds of rock today for 100 bucks. What do you think of this scape so far?

That's nice!
I try as many bridges as possible.
Gives shelter/safety and mine love to swim in and out.
The more bridges I have the more they're out front.

Suspecting that's your biggest contributor young man.
Instead of sea hare invest in home ro, some hannas and a bucket of salt.
Christmas is coming.
That's what I'd ask for.
LFS water cannot be trusted.
I used ro water from the store and had nothing but issues until I bought my own system.
Best $69 I ever spent.
This is true. I was using LFS water and got to trusting them. One day after a water change my tux urchin lost all its spines and died the same day. Other things were looking horrible. Couldn't imagine the cause until I checked salinity in my new LFS water: 1.038sg. Bought a RODI buddy and first box of salt the same day.

Done that 3 times on 4 rocks. I really need to scrub two of my rocks but one of them has a coral and the other im afraid if I take it off it'll cause turmoil with structure
Scrub off the rocks and give them a light spritz of hydrogen peroxide and leave them out for a few minutes before putting them back in. The key is to spray just enough hydrogen peroxide to coat the surface, not saturate the rock. You don't want to kill your biofilter. Over the next day the remaining GHA will go white and die--there's still GHA left, it isn't gone. But your cuc then start to put in real work with the new GHA. A tux urchin and a pair of turbos can keep a lot of that GHA at bay. Note: urchin will munch on your macros. Turbos may as well. If you've got a decent sized ball of pom pom it can keep up.

Edit: don't spray onto corals. I spray around them so they don't catch a blast of peroxide. I also use a feeder pipette to drip water on top of the corals to keep them wet.
