Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
I think after school today I'm gonna do ANOTHER rock scrub... Just the regulars two on the left, far top one one on the right and maybe one of the harder ones to balance. Going to my LFS for test and possible sea hare tomorrow! Still awaiting Live Aquarius response on gift card etc.
This is how I feel after the 5th rock scrub. :/

I feel your pain with having to do the scrubbing. Lol

Alycia will respond once the gift card is created.

They can be nitrate factories for sure but having a bunch of nitrate in the beginning I've never thought of as a bad thing.
When I started this hobby 35 years ago all we had, really were canister filters and under gravel filters.
I used to clean mine once a month.
Over the years I've had one on my big tank off and on for short periods but mainly just for surface agitation.
I've also used them for gravel cleaning, or, in my case, bottom glass cleaning where I could clean but not change water.
My trigger makes a mess and sometimes I'll just vacuum but not very often.
You can easily run a tank on a canister filter many people still do
And the uglies, well, they're going to happen.
I’m not to terrified of the ugly, I figured it would happen. As long as I can keep my glass clean and water column clean, I am happy camper lol.

The test was random, haven’t done it in a while. So I was very shocked to find it maxed out on the Hanna

I was going to get a couple cheaper hardy coral but want to try to get that number down. (Thoughts and recommendations on this last statement)

Water changes my friend.
Water changes.

So far I've eaten 16 ounces of Egg Nog coffee.

I had Chicken curry Thai. But tonight is Meatloaf night. even better tomorrow with a 1/2" slice cold between two pieces of buttered bread!

So funny we are having meatloaf as well! I got it ready this morning and all my husband has to do is put it in the oven to cook.

Ended up just getting a few more guppies to go in my office tank. I have the shipment coming tomorrow and hopefully will be going to Asheville to get more corals from the lady I found over there.

just baked potatoes, hollowed out and mixed in the left over 4 cheese blend from Taco's the other night. now to figure out a vegetable. (But that won'y be on MY plate!)
