What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
It is a flocculant that binds the smallest particles and makes them larger so they can get trapped in the filters. Basically to keep your water crystal clear.
Gotcha! Does it affect any other parameters in your tank? What's the best way to filter it out once it binds? Your typical filtration that you use every day? Sorry for 100 questions Luis. No rush man

I must have missed that post.
This thread is becoming difficult for me.
Especially because it keeps glitching starting to make me angry and I might have to take a break until it is fixed.
Sorry guys I have to go do some breathing exercises.
I’ll try again later before I start to embarrass myself with uncontrollable rage.
I can feel myself starting to get angry.
As much as I love everyone, sometimes I have to resign myself to the fact that I can't catch everything. This being my first foray into social media, I'm not as hip to it as others can be. Catch what you can brother, and don't sweat the rest. They haven't kicked me out yet!

@tbrown has been using it for a longer time, this is my first time but it works with your normal filter system and I don't think it affects any parameters unless you go overboard with the calcium carbonate but I don't know.

Stuff? As in poly filter and test kit and Nitrate and Phosphate? lol
I hope that is what you have coming…lol
Lol yes, I have polyfilter coming in. I already have test kits too.

This os the post @luis angel had mentioned.

@kingranch2003 your filter socks and protein skimmer do well to filter it. I know when I used it I could see the white gunk in my skimmer. I geuss ot does really really well at getting that stuff.
Awesome Mike, great stuff, thanks. Just when I thought I knew a few things lol.

I don't filter it out. I use Calcium Carbonate and it ends up in the sump or filter floss/filter socks/PolyFil.

If you don't learn something, was it really even a successful day? ;)

It's not mandatory at all hahaha, it's just that my tank had a lot of small particles floating and my 200 micron filter didn't catch them and that's why I wanted to try.

That's what I meant to say, Tim. Just let it pass through your usual filtration, nothing special ?

Today is cleaning tank day and maybe change 10g, it is also time to feed the corals, Any plans for the tank today?

We need to do a water change and clean the skimmer. Might pull out some algae too. Maybe

I don't. I use it off and on - usually every week or 2. Some people use it daily.

One thing to consider - it can lower your alkalinity slightly at each use but not significantly enough to really notice unless you're dosing it very often.

Not really... Church this morning and then MAYBE "new tank" plans???

True Dat. Just back from church, quick lunch, then to my brother's place while the ladies are at an annual Altar Society luncheon. Hope to have evening time for the tank. If not, maintenance tomorrow.

So, my mother wanted to take me out to our favorite Chinese restaurant for my birthday. My wife has been out with my daughter all day shopping for her wedding shower. As I an pulling into the parking lot I get a text from my wife saying she was at the same restaurant with my daughter and wanted to know if I wanted her to bring something home for me. Imagine the surprise when my mother and I walked in.

Kudos to you for knowing when to step back. As a mental health nurse I've dealt with people who have no idea when to step back from frustrating circumstances or regulate themselves appropriately (and some who have no desire to). I admire your self awareness and self control.
