So i dosed a little bit of reef builders my buddy gave me long ago, and got my ph up to 7.3 from 6.4. Gonna measure when I get home and ot it's still around there I'll dose the same amount one more time. Everything else seemed close so after that I'll start dosing all for reef as needed! That said, I've never seen my corals as happy as they all looked today! My alk must have really been causing problems! :oops:

It's okay to raise the pH, I also think I saw low calcium and also low magnesium, but remember Mike that it's better to raise it little by little so as not to make such abrupt changes.

Yea i googled and scoured r2r and the general consensus for alk is 1 dkh a day, which I did .9 so that's about perfect! Just want to get them all to the right ratio, then as I add afr I can monitor if it's stable that way!

My calcium was right at the lower threshold and my magnesium was right about in the center so I'd call it "ideal" once I get both my alk and calcium to a good range I'm switching from individual products to just AFR

Supposedly we have pretty good tuna fishing between us and Canada. I can't imagine hooking into something that big lol

lol sometimes when I’m dropping down it feels like it could be as deep

Mahi is our tuna bi-catch still fun especially if you can get them past the sharks

Same here in Pa i swear a freight train just passed the house. I really need to invest in a generator power outage is my tanks biggest fear and We have been super lucky the past 7 years

I have a generator but I should get a standby generator. I'm an electrician so the install part is free and through work I can get a good price, install myself, and still get the warranty. Oh BTW just checked out your build thread and you have and awesome setup bud!

I am so glad we have a generator it gives me peace of mind. What I do when we lose power more than a couple of hours is use it for the tanks for about 30 minutes to an hour every few hours. So far it has worked it helps that they are all in the living room and we have a gas fireplace that heats it well in there if we lose power.
