On this week’s podcast with cooking with Kev, we’ll be visiting an oldy but goody. Shrimp scampi over angel hair pasta. Of course the required amount of garlic will be more than doubled. A staple phrase in our kitchen is “you can never have too much garlic!”

Blastos are extremely low light corals , the one directly under my monti has been shaded for years.

I have 1 blasto. Maybe I ought to move it somewhere with less light to make room:thinking-face:

I have this story about calling a turkey in Africa...

Probably somewhat similar to calling turkeys in Arizona? Mountain Lions and bears tend to show up as well... :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Pictures under white light, still a bit dirty but way better. Also my skimmer might be broken.. the water won't flow into the collection cup because there's not enough water filled up. If I turn it up it overflows, I'll send video when I'm home.

They can be super finicky. Check your air supply line for salt creep and clean if needed.

It also could be sucking too much air so when you turn it up it goes crazy. You can take a bit of cotton ball and block the end somewhat in that case.

I wonder if an aiptasia would actually eat the Berghia?

Mine ate one and the Berghia ate his way out. It was quite amusing.

I don't remember that part. but remember it took a really long time for them to crawl out of the container. I put mine each near a aiptasia. but then read later that they recommend to put the berghia all in the same spot to start breeding. but it still worked for me. don't have a problem with the big tank. had a couple early on but was easy to eliminate.

I used a turkey baster and sucked them out of the container and then they slowly fall out of the baster so I just put the tip near the aiptasia and let it land on the rock close by.

Yes. Some corals will as well. I just had one that strolled too near a Favia, expensive meal.

Oh. It did! I put it in an empty rum bottle with water (from the sea of course) and pushed the cork back in. You couldn't even tell since the bottle is dark glass. Put it in my checked bag.

Well, since you asked...

I was minding my own business one morning walking to work in a rural town in Mozambique when I came across a full grown gobbler on someone's property. My immediate reactions were:

1. Turkeys are not native to Africa.
2. Someone went to great lengths to get a turkey out here.

Having grown up in Texas and having a father that led the Texas wild turkey restoration program (you're welcome hunters), I naturally started calling to the turkey. Given that the turkey had occupied itself with a social circle consisting of chickens and weird-looking ducks, boy did I get that turkey gobbling!

It was at that moment that I paused to look around and found that all of the locals had stopped what they were doing and were staring at me calling the turkey, clearly questioning to themselves "what's this guy going to do with the turkey?"

I stopped calling the turkey, put my head down and shuffled off to the clinic to start my day double-time.

So for a while now, I've really wanted to raise white worms for my fish, corals, and fun! Enter my buddy Wes! He sent me a huge healthy culture that was loaded with worms and eggs! I've fed some to my tank and my wife's. EVERYTHING loves them. This is going to give me a free, renewable, low waste food for as long as I keep the culture going. Thanks for the culture @Imrahilwjz . They had a safe journey from Oregon to Mississippi.

They took to the bubble wrap really well surprisingly. Any bubbles that had been popped filled up with worms immediately. I had succes with some.meah screen that I laid under a piece of bread. I just rinsed it in rodi water and got a nice enough amount off to start a second culture
