My wife grows several kinds of mint. One of them is Chocolate Mint... and yes, it does have a chocolate mint taste!

So, what exactly causes my skimmer to start over flowing wildly of it gets full? To the point where it overflows the entire collection cup back into the tank :rolleyes: then I have to dial my skimmer down, slim all the chunk back out, then re adjust my skimmer back to where it was. I hate it lol

I know certain chemicals do it but without chemicals I have to constantly adjust my skimmer, it gets annoying.

mine fills an overflow container. usually takes about 5 days to start draining into the overflow then maybe only 1/10 of the overflow container fills before I empty and clean the whole thing. probably like every 10 days is my cleaning. but I don't need to dial it.

It's a big unit. but it's the Bashsea 6/24 with I think a gallon overflow container. I have it in sump but can also be on the outside but would need to add a pipe to get it to flow back in. think it really helps with oxygenation.

Excessive protein, from food or additives.
If it's doing it when you feed, turn it off for a bit before and after.
I used to have mine do it when I used new filter pads, even if I rinsed them first.
I don't use any pads anymore.
Any sort of chemical, doesn't have to be poisonous.
Sometimes fish vitamins can do it, especially selcon.
Mine does it at first after a water change, but only if I use IO or crystals.
There's an anti caking agent they add and my skimmer goes nuts, but only for a bit.
I just leave the sump water level lower then.
