thanks for asking. all still sick but me. They just have a queasy stomach now. probably going to be a few more days before they recover fully. at least they are not actively sick anymore.

Isolate yourself. Gargle with Lysol. Bathe in rubbing alcohol. What ever you do avoid the little germ carriers!
Kidding man. I hope they feel better. Nothing worse than having a sick little one, you feel helpless at times.

I knew it as soon as I saw the coralline and macro algae growing on it. I have the same green macro, plus halimeda, some red... looks like gracilia, tons of feather dusters and other "stuff". I love how it looks and what it provides for the tank.

I never dosed this tank either. TBS said put the rock in and nothing else. 100% spot on. Though I keep contemplating on getting another rock from them. Would like a nice big one.

Same. When I sat up the 40g breeder temporary tank it was supposed to be basically to cycle rock. Well, I bought 30 pounds from TBS and now have a euphyllia forest in the "temporary" tank. Oh well, it will make transferring everything extremely easy since all the rock is from TBS and fully alive.

Honestly though. The TBS rock works extremely well for nutrient control. I have to dose 1.5ml of Ammonium Bicarbonate daily to keep my nitrates above 5ppm. If I miss a dose or two, it'll be under 1ppm in 48 hours. I'm going to start dosing 2.0 ml daily to try to get my NO3 up around 10. Phosphate stays around 0.04-0.05 consistently.

I also have 20 pounds of the TBS live sand sitting in a small tupperware tote in my rock cycling tote. I put half the TBS rock in the 40g and half in a tote to help cycle some dry rock I had. It's been four months and the dry rock looks almost the same as the TBS, nice and dark.

I didn't get any sand from them. 100lbs of rock only. one of the boxes has sprung a leak so everything was soaked. makes me wonder what the passengers thought when their luggage was wet and smelled like ocean? but my goal was to stabilize the tank quicker for an octopus. hands down best method. the other tank I set up to see how hard salt was and what I found was caribsea dry was probably a mistake. it grew GHA suddenly near when I finally took it down. I think that rock has high silicates or something. I've seen many threads of people that have heavy GHA used carribsea. and it was a slimy gha.

The dry rock I used was the marco rock. My temporary tank and tote do not have algae in them. I do scrape the glass in the 40g every couple days, but no GHA or invasive algae.

Taking the suction cup off and sharpening the ends defeats it’s purpose. We are all familiar with catch and release when it comes to fishing, I saw a lot of it this past weekend watching the Bass master’s classic tournament, but it is my understanding that the arrows with the suction cups are for hunt and release. I wouldn’t use them for hunt and release for bears because it will just make them mad and then they will eat you.

Had to do soup and salad, been feeling slightly nauseous since waking ( god, I hope I’m not pregnant). I couldn’t do Mexican today, sorry I let all of you good people down again. I considered just getting a bowl of chicken tortilla soup but they make it spicy ( the way I like it)but I don’t think it would sit well.
