Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Kev, did they rule out meningitis? Hope they identify it soon. Didn’t scroll through all the pages yet but sounds like infection of some sorts.
I think they ruled that out the other day? His daughter is thinking the spinal tap they did "leaked" and that's what might be making him sick at this point.

He had a spinal tap at 3:00 am Wednesday that was negative.

Excuse me if I ask so many questions, but I don't understand anything. Are you referring to the liquid they extracted from the spine spread inside his body?

More or less, yes. The liquid along his spine, they extracted some for testing. After the extraction, the hole from the needle may not have closed and now he has a small leak if I understand correctly myself.

Well he had the fever before and such so it may not be pseudomonas or others. I’m sure they are going through a lot. Any cuts a few days ago? Air bubbles in blood? I’m sure they will find it. Best wishes to your family and son.

Yes. Every tap you’re at risk for infection too

Yes, the take a needle ago through the spine and extract cerebral spinal fluid that is surrounding the spinal cord and test it for a viral or bacterial infection. It’s as unpleasant as it sounds.

Now I've been reading about it and translating it into Spanish and we know it as lumbar puncture ( puncion lumbar )

Got a new new doctor, he is checking with the anesthesiologist to see if they can do a blood patch. Take his blood and inject it into the site to patch the leak but can’t do it if he has an infection because it could introduce an infection into the spinal canal.

I definitely need to order a stronger lid, even though I love mine. My solorensis just jumped again, that's the fourth time, luckily I was in the living room and I felt it.

Wishing you the very best Kev. You and your wife should take turns napping so you can be alert as well and be there for him.

Thanks Paul, she worked a 12 hour shift I told her to just go home.

i’m away and we lost power (high wind). Was out for 2 hours and the UPS carried the main pump through. Power turned back on and surged and tripped that breaker. So no power to the tank at all. Luckily the wife was home and I could trouble shoot over the phone. Only saw it since I have a video cam to see surface agitation, temp and lighting.

Yeah, call her back when you need your rest. You’ll still need to care for him when he comes home. When my first baby was born it took a long time and neither of us slept for a couple days. Then they hand you a baby and say take care of it! So yeah, get your rest.

I agree with you 100% Paul, @kevgib67 let your wife rest as much as you can stand but please call her if you start to fall asleep and then you can take turns so that both of you can be at least 80% (I give you the advice that goes with life, if I'm honest I and I think that we would all do what you are doing, and I tell you this because I have already done it but from experience I can tell you that afterwards I am good for nothing and my wife has had to be there for 24 hours straight because I can't wake up)

It's good that your wife was there and there was no major damage Paul
