What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
I'm serious, you and your family a.re an inspiration to me. I'd like to do everything with my son and my wife. Congratulations, Wes, for your beautiful family.
Thank you

+1
I'm going to say fries are okay too. 😉
Interesting that we're having a club sandwich on the Sunday special menu tomorrow 😋 🤔
Guess you come from a more affluent neighborhood than I did 🤣 🤣 🤣

I actually can't have many fries since a went sans-gall bladder. A good club is hard to beat on a summer day.

All i do on here nowadays is answer unanswered threads. Feel like a robot. Also doing another reefcleaners order... NO HERMITS what do y'all recommend i take out or add?

I like my knobby creeper, but I know you had bad luck with one earlier. I don't see it very often

I'm also a big fan of fuzzy chitons, although I haven't seen mine for awhile either

Arrow crab has not harmed anything in my tank, and keeps my bristleworm population managed.

A conch if you don’t already have one. Great for sandbeds

Fighting conch for tanks >50g
Strawberry conch for tanks <50g

What happens if I get two conchs? I like arrow crabs but im not sure if my wrasse would like him very much.

I have a 75g and one fighting conch is enough to keep the sandbed clean

They spend all day and night stirring and cleaning sand. Depending on the size of the tank, and type of conch, you have a risk of one starving out.

If you had a decent size tank, like a 75-100g, then you could do 2-3 strawberry instead of 1 fighting conch.

What size is the tank?

Nah they are completely peaceful.
The strawberries stay a little smaller. You could get 2 or 3 of those. Or 1 fighting conch would be enough. You will see him all the time. Always on the sand. Sometimes buried with eye stalks sticking out. He will be all over the tank each day

I joke and say my conch is my hardest worker in the tank. Always out and about cleaning

I believe I have 2 strawberry/tiger conchs and one Diana. If I see one of them paying too much attention to the glass, I toss in a few sinking algae pellets

I have a Fighting and a Strawberry in my 70. The Strawberry is almost 3 inches, the Fighting is only about an inch and a half currently.

typically the sizing is the opposite!

I’ll revise my statement. One Adult fighting is all that’s needed in the sizes I mentioned. If it’s smaller then you can add more. Or if you feed a lot and there’s food making it’s way to the sandbed often then that’s ok. My fish don’t let anything on the sand. And if food does get to the sand, the fish stir it up or pick it off the sand. No morsel left behind!

True. My Fighting was only about a half an inch when I got it. I thought my Strawberry was gone so I "replaced it" and the Strawberry showed back up. 😂 Sorry, I wasn't saying you were wrong, just stating what was currently in my tank.

No it’s a good point!

I don’t want someone buying a .75” fighting conch and thinking they can’t get another.
